DIN 11851 Milk Coupling
The DIN 11851 Milk Coupling is widely used throughout the UK & Europe and incorporates a round slotted nut and a D Section O Ring seal, as standard. The union is manufactured to suit both DIN 11850 metric tube from 10mm to 200mm and Imperial tube sizes from 1” to 4” sizes.
Both the metric and imperial fitting sizes share the same DN O Ring.
The union uses a knuckle thread form that is covered by the DIN 405 standard and two seal designs are offered for the fitting, namely the flush fitting and crevice free lipped seal and also the cheaper D section seal.
The standard seal material is Nitrile/Perbunan and is generally blue or grey in colour, while alternatives in Viton®, EPDM, PTFE, PTFE envelope and translucent silicone are also offered. The male features an inverted cone face that carries the seal, while the liner is conical in section.
