In-Line Sight Glasses
HVF Valves Ltd offer a range of Tubular In-Line Sight Glasses (sometimes called Flow Indicators), to assist with the viewing of product media in pipelines.
Three basic types of In-Line Sight Glass are supplied:
- Borosilicate inner tube and clear polycarbonate outer cover
- Clear poly cover with an additional stainless steel perforated tube
- Plain sight glass with no protective cover
Size range:
1” to 4” and DN 25 to DN 100
Maximum operating pressure: 10 Bar
The maximum operating temperature is dependent upon seal material
Seal Material:
FDA Food grade EPDM, Silicone or Viton
Maximum working pressure is determined by tube size and temperature.
End Fitting options: Clamp Ferrule BS 4825-3, Butt Weld, DIN 11850, DIN 11851, SMS, RJT and IDF / ISS
DIN 11851 Radial Sight Glass
Based on the DIN 11851 screwed hygienic union the unit is suitable for welding into the vessel wall, the lid of a manway or dished head.
Supplied complete with the special DIN 11851 hygienic male base, with glass disc, gaskets and slotted outer nut.
Size range from DN25 to DN150.
Standard operating temperatures of up to 200°C (higher available on request).
Standard operating pressures of up to 6 bar (higher available on request).
Materials: The males can be supplied in either 304 or 316L stainless steel as standard with specials also available.
We also build custom made assemblies to suit your specific requirements and outside the standard range.

We also offer an In-line sightglass with machined stainless steel metal shroud cover.
This In-line sightglass is manufactured with a stainless steel outer shroud that gives the operator four viewing windows to the product media. The design incorporates the EHEDG recommendations for O ring detail and ensures that there is a smooth transition between the borosilicate glass and the 316L stainless steel end fittings assembly.
The O ring seals are both FDA food grade approved and USP Class IV certified.
The internal surface finish complies with ASME-BPE-SF4, however higher finishes and exotic materials can also be supplied.

3/8” to 6”
Maximum operating pressure: 3 Bar to 22 Bar dependent upon size and temperature.
Seal Material:
EPDM and Viton / FEP
End fitting options: Butt Weld and Clamp Ferrule
Size range:
1” to 4” Imperial and DN 10 to DN 150 in Metric
